Notice of Enactment of Groton Township Ordinance
Notice is hereby given as provided by statute that the Board of Supervisors of Groton Township has enacted the following ordinance and that the same shall become an ordinance of Groton township upon and after its publication as provided by statute:
Speed Limit Ordinance
The truck speed limit on 134th street between 404th Avenue and 1/2 mile west of Highway 37 (boundary of Groton Township and City of Groton), and on 404th Avenue between 130th street and 134th Street is set at 40 MPH and the speed limit will be conspicuously posted at the beginning and ending of the zones. Fines for speeding will be the same as used by the State of South Dakota.

Notice of Enactment of Groton Township Ordinance
Notice is hereby given as provided by statute that the Board of Supervisors of Groton Township has enacted the following ordinance and that the same shall become an ordinance of Groton township upon and after its publication as provided by statute:
Weight Limit Ordinance
All truck and /or trailer traffic upon the township roads of Groton Township descibed as 134th Street between SD Highway 37 and 404th Avenue (commonly called the “Chicken Coop Road”), and on 404th Avenue between 130th Street and 134th Street, expect between SD Highway 12 and the POET Ethanal plant entrance, with axle weight greater 6 ton per axle is hereby prohibited, except as hereinafter provided. School buses, vehicles of governmental subdivisions, and or any other vehicle which is delivering a product or rendering a service directly to a resident living adjacent to the described roads, shall be exempted from the provisions of this ordinance. Any person violating any provisions of this ordinance shall, upon the conviction, be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine of no more than $200.00 and or thirty days in Jail. This ordinance shall be in effect when Brown County has weight restrictions on county roads.

Notice of Enactment of Groton Township Policy
Notice is hereby given as provided by statute that the Board of Supervisors for Groton Township has enacted the following policy:
Approach Approval Policy
This policy applies to landowners wanting to build an approach from a township road to their adjacent land per SDCL 31-24-3 and 31-24-4
1. Before building an approach, the landowner must submit a complete Field Approach/Culvert Application form to the township clerk and must receive approval from the Township Board.
2. A new board determines a culvert is needed to provide drainage in the ditch, a culvert must be installed at the landowner’s cost.
4. The landowner is responsible for the cost of the approach unless the township is required by law to install the approach.
