Hecla City Council Proceedings
Special session of the Hecla City Council met February 18, 2008 – 8:00 P.M. at
the City Office. Present were members Cathy Jones, Jay Osterloh, Harry Sukut,
Hal Treeby and Caryl Wilmsen. Arlin Elsen absent. Mayor Trautmann presided.
Purpose of the meeting was to have second reading on Ordinance and meet with the
Gym committee.
ORDINANCES
An Ordinance entitled “FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION ORDINANCE” was given second and
final reading. Osterloh moved, seconded by Jones that Ordinance pass second
reading. On roll call vote: Elsen,asent; Jones,aye; Osterloh,aye; Sukut, aye;
Treeby,aye; Wilmsen,aye. The Mayor then declared the Ordinance adopted. The
Ordinance will be placed on file and will not be published pursuant to SDCL
9-19-7
Meet with Gym Committee
Michael Elsen was the only committee member present for the meeting.
Items discussed:
1. The water heater in the Gym for the locker rooms needs to be replaced. It was
agreed that they would replace the old one with an 85 gallon Marathon electric
heater.
2. The group discussed getting some new gym equipment. A list will be placed in
the Gym for input
from the people using the equipment to see what the majority want.
3. It was in agreement to get the lose floor tiles in the Gym building fixed.
4. The tin on the north side of the Gym needs repair.
5. Council was informed that the ceiling (roof) vents in the Gym need to be
insulated.
There being no further business before the Council, Treeby moved, seconded by
Wilmsen to adjourn the meeting. Mayor Trautmann declared the meeting adjourned.
