The Groton City Council met on the above date at 7:00pm at City Hall for their regular second monthly meeting with the following members present: Hendrickson, Nyberg, Brotherton, Hamilton, Heitmann, and Mayor Olson presiding.
Moved by Brotherton and seconded by Hamilton to approve the minutes as read. All members present voted aye.
Moved by Hendrickson and seconded by Nyberg to give second reading to Ordinance No. 651, Fences. All members present voted aye.
Results of clean up week were tabled to get more information.
Moved by Heitmann and seconded by Hamilton to turn off the Main St stop lights for the summer and place a stop sign on the north and south approaches of the intersection of N Third St and E Ninth Ave. All member present voted aye.
Discussion was held on the Marathon Water Heater program promoted by Heartland Consumer Power District. It was decided not to participate at this time because our local rebate and load management program were highly used.
Councilman Anderson enters the meeting at this point.
A special meeting on May 28 at the Community Center with SD Community Foundation member Bob Sutton on pool fund raising was set.
Moved by Brotherton and seconded by Hamilton to allow the Community Blood Drive to use the Community Center without charge on June 3. All members present voted aye.
Moved by Heitmann and seconded by Anderson to make payroll checks direct deposits to employees bank accounts for all employees. All members present voted aye.
Job descriptions were reviewed.
Council adjourned into executive session at 7:26pm to discuss personnel and legal matters on a motion by Nyberg and seconded by Brotherton. All members present voted aye. Council reconvened into regular session at 8:25pm.
Meeting adjourned.
