ORDINANCE NO. 646
An Ordinance entitled "The 2008 Salary Ordinance" to amend Ordinance No. 635, it
being an ordinance regulating the salaries of the elective and appointive
officers and employees of the City of Groton.
BE IT ORDAINED BY The City Council of the City of Groton:
The 2008 salaries and time of payment are as follows for the elected and
appointed officers and employees:
Mayor- 400.00/month - Monthly; Council Members- 1,200.00/year - Annually
+30.00/special evening City Council meeting - Monthly; Board of Equalization-
100.00/year - Annually; Planning & Zoning Commission- 25.00/meeting - Monthly;
Finance Officer -4,250.00/month - Semimonthly; Deputy Finance Officer-
14.40/hour - Biweekly; Assistant Finance Officer & Police Sec.- 14.90/hour -
Biweekly; Public Works Coordinator & Street & Wastewater Supt.- 20.80/hour -
Biweekly; Water Supt.- 18.80/hour - Biweekly; Public Works Laborer Level 2-
16.30/hour - Biweekly; Public Works Laborer Level 1- 14.40/hour - Biweekly;
Rubble Site Supervisor- 10.70/hour - Biweekly; Assistant Electric Supt.-
18.75/hour - Biweekly; Part-time Lineman- 18.75/hour - Biweekly; Meter Readers
under 3 months experience-156.00/month - Monthly; Meter Readers over 3 months,
but under 2 years experience- 206.00/month - Monthly; Meter Readers over 2 years
experience- 216.00/month - Monthly; Parks Supt.- 1,261.86/month - Semimonthly;
Police Chief- 3,629.60/month - Semimonthly; Police Officer Level 1-
2,779.40/month - Semimonthly; Police Officer & Asst. Chief- 3,159.00/month -
Semimonthly; Police Officer Part-time- 8.50/hour - Semimonthly; Building
Inspector- 1/2 Permits(min $10) - Quarterly; Youth Center Manager- 12.50/hour -
Biweekly; Youth Center Attendants under 6 months experience- 6.90/hour -
Biweekly; Youth Center Attendants over 6 months experience- 7.30/hour - Biweekly
Elective officials will receive $75.00 per full day and expenses and $25.00 per
evening and expenses for attending other meetings and events which are not City
Council meetings and are authorized. All changes in elective officials salaries
will be effective after May 1, 2008.
Electric Department personnel may also participate in an independent study
course incentive program. Any electric department personnel who complete four
(4) sections of the Power Lineman Training Program with passing grades on each
chapter will receive $.25 per hour pay increase.
Mileage reimbursement for travel will be at the IRS level. Meals reimbursement
for travel will be at SD State level.
