Town of Westport General Meeting
June 2nd, 2009
The Town of Westport met on June 2nd, 2009 with Mark Van Dover, Larry Huettl,
and Steven Mitzel present.
• The following expenses were presented:
City General

Larry Huettl made motion to pay all bills; second by Mark Van Dover.
• Scott Meints of Brown Co Emergency Management presented information regarding
an early warning siren that could be installed in the city of Westport. Almost
all of the equipment and installation costs will be covered by a grant. The City
Council made the decision to move forward.
• Scott Meints stated that Governor Rounds has signed a declaration of disaster
for public, not individual, assistance with respect to the 2009 flood. Scott
talked about a Pre Disaster Mitigation (PDM) 5-year plan that is being developed
by Brown County.
• Scott Meints provided information regarding CHIP (Community Home Improvement
Program) Loans. Individuals can get a loan up to $15,000. If interested,
individuals are to inquire at one of the following Aberdeen banks: CorTrust
Bank, Dacotah Bank, Great Western Bank, or Home Federal Bank.
• The next City Council meeting in July will be held on WEDNESDAY, JULY 1ST,
6:00PM.
