Hecla City Council Proceedings
Special session of the Hecla City Council met March 17, 2008 –6:50 P.M. at the City Office. Present were members Arlin Elsen, Cathy Jones, Jay Osterloh, Harry Sukut, Hal Treeby and Caryl Wilmsen. Mayor Trautmann presided.
Purpose of the meeting was to have first reading on an Ordinance, approve sale of surplus property, and consider some expenses.
ORDINANCE
Osterloh introduced an Ordinance entitled “Approval for Alcoholic Package Sales on Sundays” and moved it pass first reading and to be added to the City Ordinances as Chapter 6-5 Liquor Operations; Section 6-5-1. The motion was seconded by Sukut. On roll call vote: Elsen,aye; Jones,aye; Osterloh,aye; Sukut, aye; Treeby,aye; Wilmsen,aye. This action taken to be in compliance with state statute SDCL 35-4-81.1. Second reading will be Monday March 24, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at the City Office.
Surplus Property
Elsen made a motion, seconded by Wilmsen to sell the 10 burner Vulcan gas stove from the Gym Kitchen for $100.00. All present voted aye. Motion carried.
Authorize Purchases
Gym Equipment: Treeby moved, seconded by Jones to purchase the following equipment for the Gymnasium:
Elliptical Machine for $799.00 and a 701S Strength System for $600.00 from Dakota Outdoors of Aberdeen. Unanimous approval. Motion carried.
Printer: Motion by Jones, seconded by Osterloh to approve the purchase of a laser jet printer for the Finance Officer’s computer. All voted aye. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Council, Elsen moved, seconded by Wilmsen to adjourn the meeting. Mayor Trautmann declared the meeting adjourned.
