GROTON AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 06-6

SPECIAL MEETING

October 28, 2009

President Nelson called the meeting to order at 9:05pm in the High School Library. Members present: Hanson, Kjelden, McNamara, Nelson, Rix and Schaller. Absent: Luttrell. Others present were Superintendent Schuster and Principal Sweeter.

Moved by McNamara, second Rix to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried.

Purpose of the meeting was to meet with Brian Schuring and Joel Guthmiller who recently resigned as Girls Basketball head coach and assistant coach respectively.

Four members of the public were present and were given the opportunity to address the board in executive session.

Moved by Rix, second Kjelden to go into executive session to discuss personnel matters. Motion carried.

Nelson declared the board out of executive session at 11:20pm.

The board decided that it was in the best interest of the girls’ basketball program to take no action on either resignation at this time.

Moved by McNamara, second Kjelden to adjourn. Motion carried.
