The Groton City Council met on the above date at 7pm at City Hall for their regular second monthly meeting with the following members present: Hendrickson, Brotherton, Hamilton, Nyberg, Anderson, Heitmann, and Mayor Olson presiding.

The minutes were approved as read on a motion by Anderson and seconded by Brotherton. All members present voted aye.

Two change orders from JDH Construction for a reduction of $55,713.60 on the swimming pool construction were accepted on a motion by Hamilton and seconded by Nyberg. All members present voted aye.

Shauna Bogart and Elsie Porter requested a certificate of need for the curb and gutter payments on 2007 curb & gutter. Moved by Hendrickson and seconded by Nyberg to grant a certificate of need to 1st Addition, Block 26, Lots 10& S ´ of 11 for Shauna Bogart. All members present voted aye.

Moved by Brotherton and seconded by Anderson to have Doug Hamilton attend the Heartland Energy Efficiency Workshop on June 10 in Madison. All members present voted aye.

Cleanup week results were discussed. An inspection of all properties will be held before June 1.

Street breakup and repairs were discussed. Price differences between asphalt and chip/seal were reviewed. Rebuilding bases and dust-proofing were discussed.

At 7:25pm Council adjourned into executive session to discuss personnel and legal matters on a motion by Hamilton and seconded by Anderson. All members present voted aye. Council reconvened into regular session at 7:56pm.

A letter from Steve Lewis complaining of noise levels from the Rix Elevator was read by the Council. Since the noise levels did not exceed the ordinance requirements, no action was taken.
