INVITATION TO BID

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT The Groton City Council of the City of Groton, South Dakota, will open bids for a three year cash rent lease for 118 acres, more or less, located on the Southeast Quarter (SW 1/4) of Section 19, Township 124, Range 60 which is six miles north of Groton on Highway 37, which is known as the Groton City Airport land, on August 17, 2009 at 8:00pm (local time) at City Hall, 209 N Main, Groton, SD.  Received sealed bids will be opened and read aloud.  

The Lease will be for three year period commencing October 1, 2009 and terminating September 30, 2012.  Payment of rent will be due each year, one-half on April 1, and one-half on September 1.  The first payment would be due April 1, 2010.

The City reserves the right to refuse any or all bids, to waive any informalities in the bidding and to award the contract in the best interests of the City of Groton, SD.  The City further reserves the right to terminate their lease or any part thereof if the land will be needed for non-farm or municipal use.  Rent per acre would then be reduced accordingly.

Exact acreage will be determined by ASC Office determination.
