NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION
MUNICIPALITY OF GROTON
A Municipal Election will be held on the 8th day of April, 2008 in Groton, South
Dakota. If the polls cannot be opened because of bad weather, the election may
be postponed one week.
The election polls will be open from seven o'clock a.m. to seven o'clock p.m.
central daylight time on the day of the election.
At the election, the following question will be decided:
Should the Tax Levy be Increased in the Annual Amount of $130,000 for the
Calendar Years 2008-2027 with Taxes Payable in the Calendar Years of 2009-2028 ?
Furthermore, the following offices were unopposed:
Alderman Ward 1 - 1 year term - Clare Brotherton (Incumbent)
Alderman Ward 1 - 2 year term - Brett Anderson (Incumbent)
Alderman Ward 2 - 2 year term - Deanna Hendrickson (Incumbent)
Alderman Ward 3 - 2 year term - Gary Heitmann (Incumbent)
The polling place in each precinct of this municipality is the Groton Community
Center, 109 N Third St, Groton, SD.
Voters with disabilities may contact the City Finance Officer for information
and special assistance in absentee voting or polling place accessibility.
