CALL MEETING TO ORDER by Mayor Vietmeier
ROLL CALL – Parsons, Kuschel Harr, Mitchell, Frohling and new council member
replacing Parsons, Allan Vietmeier. Scot Meints, Emergency Management office,
Bob Vitense and Jon Smalley.
PUBLIC COMMENTS – Meints spoke on the water and flooding, probability of water
level remaining high most of the summer. Also on tracking expenses for flood.
MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING – moved by Mitchell 2nd by Frohling to accept.
Passed.
FINANCIAL REPORT & WARRANT VOUCHERS City - Streets/Parks, Kevin Hamilton,

by Mitchell to accept. Passed.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
SDML Meeting in Doland – No special issues.
Auditorium – plans to work on it soon.
Dumpsters – pictures taken may move site if possible
Rubble site – letter from state was read, indicating some items which cannot be
placed in the rubble site. No action until the site can be used again.
Lagoon-- MMI Maintenance bid-will not use their services. Repair as water level
lowers we will have a better idea of all of the repairs to be made. Fuel/ pump-
it will be ordered as needed. Hauling – 4 loads of sand bags were hauled in
extras will be placed on the road to the lagoon. Mitchell and crew were thanked
for all of their work, with the lagoon to get it pumped and sandbags placed.
Council member’s responsibilities – the duties were reviewed with no changes.

Swearing in of council members Ellen Kuschel Harr and Allan Vietmeier, were
sworn into office. The Council thanked Don Parsons for this dedication to the
city.

Sidewalks – clear- no action
A request for summer rec. assistance was read, no action taken.
Bases for the ball diamond need replacing, no action taken.
The following appointments were made: Mitchell, President and Streets; Kuschel
Harr, Sewer; Frohling, Code enforcement, A. Vietmeier, Parks, K. Vitense,
finance officer, Lon Gellhaus, attorney, financial institution, First State Bank
of Claremont & SDFIT.

Mitchell moved 2nd by Vietmeier to adjourn. Next meeting June 2. Malt Beverage
applications to be made.
