Board of Trustees for the Town of Claremont met on 7-16-09 at
7:30pm-City Hall President Thompson called the meeting to order with
Shane Johnson, Jill Hinrichs present also present Darwin Ives. The
minutes of the June meeting were read and on a motion by Johnson and
seconded by Thompson approved as read. On a Motion by Hinrichs and
seconded by Johnson the following warrants were approved: Holland Auto,
grease,desiel grease gun, 151.35; James Valley, phone service, 56.99;
Br.Co. Treasurer,mosquito spraying, 140.00; First State Bank, mower,
530.90; Groton Independent, publishing, 14.40; Hicks mowers, parts,
51.27; Newport Colony, hauling scrap,152.88; NWE,lights, 228.03; Charla
Rye, wage, 290.00; Darwin Ives, mowing (106hrs), 789.00; Jill Hinrichs,
trailor, 146.26; Roger Johnson, gavel, 1614.94; WSSW: Rural Development,
loan pay, 576.00; BDM, water used, 638.90; NWE, water and Sewer 306.65;
Carrie Pulfrey, meter reading, 92.35; Dakota Pump and control, sewer
lift repairs, 889.64; The temporary beer license for the Jan Hinrichs
memorial Softball Tourney on July 31, Aug. 1-2 has been granted to the
American Legion of Claremont on a motion by Johnson and seconded by
Hinrichs motion carried. THompson attended the Br. Co. Hazard Mitigation
meeting on 7-8-09 in Aberdeen. Jen Gustafson notified the Board there
Hinrichs that the Town of Claremont has been awarded $7500.00 from the
Britton Area Foundation for playground equipment at the park. After
discussion-children will be allowed to drive mowers , 4 wheelers, 3
wheelers etc in the poker run for Jan Hinrichs memorial only if
accompanied by an adult age 21 or older! Thompson will contact city
attorney Lon Gellaus on properties that need to be cleaned up , property
owners no longer reside in Claremont concerning their responsibilities
on lot cleanup. With no futher business before the Board a motion was
made by Johnson and seconded by Hinrichs to adjourn. Motion carried.
